Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to invite you to the International Symposium on Agronomy and Physiology of Potato, which will be held in Nevsehir, Turkey from 20 to 24 September 2010. The symposium will also host the first triennial meeting of Agronomy & Physiology Section of the EAPR after joining two sections.
The symposium will cover all aspects of agronomy and physiology of potato crop ranging from crop management to molecular physiology. The scientific program will consist of plenary speeches, oral and poster presentations, workshops, and scientific excursions.
The conference venue, Nevsehir province, is situated in the Cappadocia region in Turkey. Cappadocia region is unique in the world with exceptional natural wonders including historical and cultural heritage. The volcanic eruptions and wind erosions had formed Cappadocian miraculous natural wonder called as “peri bacaları (fairy chimneys)” and humans used these formations to built carved houses, churches, stores etc. for ages. They also adorned these settlements with frescos, carrying the traces of the thousands of years of their civilizations. Now, entire Cappadocia region is considered as an open air museum. In addition to its natural and historical importance, Cappadocia region is also considered as capital of potato production in Turkey.
A touristical excursion will also be organized after the scientific program. We encourage all people dealing with potato as a scientist, a grower or a businessman to participate this symposium.
I look forward to see you in Nevsehir, Turkey in 2010.
Best wishes,
Prof.Dr. Mehmet Emin Caliskan
Chairman of the Organizing Committee
